How different the perception of sound in a car can be for each listener\/driver.<\/p>\n\n

We’ve already had a BMW 5 Series owner come to us with a factory hi-fi system. It was an F10, and the owner wasn’t happy with the highs and midrange. We replaced them. We wrote about that work here. <\/p>\n\n

In this BMW G30, with a similar factory Hi-Fi audio system, the owner wasn’t satisfied with the bass. So, we replaced the factory underseat woofers with 20 cm Audison subwoofers. A huge advantage in this case would be replacing the factory amplifier with an Audison AP F8.9 (a processor with an 8-channel amplifier). <\/p>\n\n

The composition of the new audio system was selected as follows:<\/p>\n\n

    \n
  1. The source remains the standard BMW head unit<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Our favorite Audison AP F8.9 (a processor with a built-in eight-channel amplifier) \u200b\u200bprocesses and amplifies the signal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. The wiring is provided by a proprietary Audison APBMW ReAMP 1 Adapter Cable BMW-42PIN set (so as not to cut the factory wiring, not to lose the warranty and to return everything back at any time if the car is sold)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Audison APBMW S8-2 Subwoofer 200mm 2Ohm Under-Seat Subwoofers<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n

    The BMW G30’s head unit, which makes no sense to replace today, is a beauty like this.<\/p>\n\n

    Why didn’t they replace all the speakers in this car? It’s a simple matter\u2014budget… Granted, when you buy an expensive car with a premium audio system, you expect good sound. And, in principle, BMW makes a decent sound system, as standard equipment. But it’s far from perfect. And it doesn’t live up to the price you pay for it… <\/p>\n\n

    So, together with the owner of a BMW G30, we decided to try to get by with minor changes on a small budget, and if what we did wasn’t enough, we’ll replace all the speakers.<\/p>\n\n

    The most important thing we wouldn’t work on this car without is a processor and amplifier. The BMW G30’s stock amplifier is the weakest link in the factory audio system. Not upgrading the factory amplifier and adding a processor is a futile exercise… <\/p>\n\n

    So, let’s get to work, simultaneously replacing the factory midbass speakers with Audison subwoofers and removing the factory amplifier, preparing the factory space for the new amplifier:<\/p>\n\n

    We’re installing the new Audison AP F8.9 amplifier in the same location as the factory one. We’re making minor adjustments to the recess. <\/p>\n\n

    To prevent a short circuit, install a fuse.<\/p>\n\n

    Important: All connections, when it comes to Audison’s factory BMW audio kits, are made plug-and-plug. No cutting or soldering required\u2014everything looks neat, neat, and professional. This car used the kit. <\/p>\n\n
