We have installed a subwoofer in the spare wheel well of various cars (where possible) on numerous occasions. Each time, these can be models of different brands and manufacturers, depending on the availability of the supplier’s warehouses. This time, we offered the owner of a 2025 Kia Sportage a subwoofer from the Italian brand ESB. We really liked the sound of this subwoofer.
What’s wrong with the factory subwoofer? Everything is wrong with it! Firstly, the size of the factory subwoofer is only 16 cm. This is frankly not enough to get a really deep low bass. Secondly, the design of the factory Kia subwoofer is a primitive cardboard subwoofer with a plastic case and a wretched magnet. Thirdly, the location of the factory subwoofer is in the niche of the rear wing, under the trim, in a resonant plastic case. In general, the factory Kia Sportage 2025 subwoofer surprised us, as car audio professionals.

Soundproofing of the trunk of the Kia Sportage 2025
Before installing the subwoofer and connecting it, it is very important to prepare the trunk for audio. Or, to put it simply, to soundproof it. We treated the metal surfaces of the trunk, including the wheel arches, with vibration-insulating material. The second layer we treated in this car was a multi-layer vibration-absorbing material. All materials are high-quality from a Ukrainian manufacturer.
We will not describe all the nuances of installing a subwoofer in a car here. But we suggest looking at the finished result – externally, the trunk looks as if we did not make any changes to the Kia Sportage 2025.
But if you lift the false floor, you will immediately see a subwoofer in the spare wheel niche of the 2025 Kia Sportage, which looks as if it has always been there.
