Processor audio system for Subaru Forester 2022 instead of the standard one
I don’t know why, but Subaru Forester owners who come to us always want to improve the standard sound to the level of the processor. That is, not just change the speakers in a circle and make audio preparation (noise insulation), but also achieve really high-quality sound.
This case is no exception. The car arrived pristine from the manufacturer, that is, nothing was changed or improved. There were no major complaints about the new audio system – after all, the war has been going on in Ukraine for over a year, everything comes down to the budget. But we are masters of getting the most out of a minimal budget))
The standard acoustics are just a name and an imitation. In the front doors there is a mounting place for a 6*9 inch oval, but in fact the diffuser is 16.5 cm. In the rear doors 16.5 cm, tweeters under glass.
Since we are installing more serious acoustics with a powerful magnetic system that will play from the amplifier, we make audio preparation of the doors. In this case, the door is absolutely “empty” from the factory, like a drum.
What about the acoustics?
Woofers from the Morel Tempo Ultra 692 kit were installed in the front doors using plastic spacers. Since this system will not have a subwoofer, we will be able to get relatively good bass.
The difference in the design of the speakers is clearly visible; the new speaker will sound better, louder and more “juicy”.

Instead of tweeters in the regular places on the “dashboard”, having made spacer rings, we installed wide-band speakers GROUND ZERO GZUF 60SQ-A. A huge plus of such a set is that it can play medium and high frequencies and thanks to the processor and channel connection HPF can be set at 300-350 Hz, which allows you to set up a cool and bright sound stage in the car.
The rear doors are also soundproofed and vibration insulated. A set of MOREL TEMPO ULTRA INTEGRA 602 coaxial acoustics is installed via Carav 14-005 spacer rings.
Processor amplifier
A frequent component in our installations is the 4-channel processor amplifier HELIX M FOUR DSP. In this project, we implemented a channel-by-channel connection of the front acoustics (wideband speakers + woofers), and left the rear connected from the standard head unit. Thanks to the processor, we got a cool and bright sound stage. When discussing the project, there was an option to take just a 4-channel processor and connect the front through a crossover and the rear. However, with a slight increase in the budget, thanks to the processor and wideband speakers, we got a result much better than it could have been without the processor.
The amplifier is installed under the passenger seat. We made a plywood base, which is attached to the car floor with studs, no additional holes are made in the body.
This system is an example of one of our most budget audio processor systems, satisfying the needs of most of our customers. Of course, we would recommend adding a subwoofer to the car to get a full range of frequencies, but here everyone chooses for themselves.
The interior remains unchanged, all components are installed in their standard places, all car functions are available, but the sound has significantly improved, it has become bright and clear.
