Subaru Forester – added an audio processor and the music began to sing!

This article will be brief. Just one manipulation with the car – what is there to write about? But I decided to leave this project here because it is indicative. Firstly, it is one of the last projects before the war. Secondly, this project is about how one detail in the car changes the sound picture radically and without which no audio system can sound the way it should and the way you might like it.

We will talk about Subaru Forester, which already has a non-standard sound and this is one of the examples, when the first stage we replaced the speakers and prepared the doors (made noise insulation). And the second stage in this car we added only one detail – an audio processor, and with its help we improved the music cardinally and finally.

The processor in our case was the Helix M Four DSP, a basic model with a built-in four-channel amplifier. We recommend this model for budget processor systems, plus it is a compact unit that is easy to find a place for in the car. We placed the processor under the driver’s seat.

As usual, after installing the device itself, the most important stage comes – setting up the audio processor. In this car, the setup took a little time – the audio system is simple with a small number of speakers. If you are interested in finding out how this car sounds – visit us on Instagram @caraudio_in_ua and among the Reels you will find a short video about this Subaru Forester.

What does a processor do in a car?

Or would it be more correct to ask – what is the difference in the sound of a system with and without a processor?

Everything is very simple – the processor gives a balanced harmonious sound, and most importantly – individual. Thanks to many flexible settings, the sound of the system can be adjusted to your ears. The processor allows you to implement channel amplification even for a large number of speakers (up to 14 channels on one device). And flexibly adjust each of them, achieving a volumetric, clear picture, when the performer does not fall apart, trying to sound from all the speakers at the same time, and when he seems to be getting ready and singing right in front of you, for you. The beauty of the processor system is that you will never understand where exactly the speakers are!

If you are interested in learning more about the processor, why it is needed, how to set it up, and so on, then I recommend watching and reading the following – How to cut three-way acoustics?
