Rearview camera for the Fiat camper

Traveling around Ukraine in a campervan is still very rare. And buying one yourself, rather than renting it, is even rarer in Ukraine. And since the owner of the Fiat who came to us bought the car for himself, it was logical to ensure safe maneuvers—driving a campervan is no easy task, after all.

In this case, we faced two tasks:
- Connect the steering wheel buttons to sync them with an existing Pioneer car stereo.
- Install and connect a rear view camera
For the first point, to sync the factory steering wheel buttons with the aftermarket Pioneer multimedia system, we used the Connects2 UNI-SWC.4 universal steering wheel adapter. Incidentally, this adapter is the most commonly used adapter for replacing factory stereos, and it’s compatible with over 480 vehicle models. We typically use the factory steering wheel adapters, but when there’s no adapter suitable for a specific vehicle, we use a universal adapter.

When it comes to rearview cameras for Fiat RVs, we recommend the FitCar FTC-180 multi-mode camera. This versatile rearview camera offers four modes: a combination mode (180-degree, left-facing, right-facing); a 180-degree fisheye mode; a fisheye compensation mode; and a top-down view mode.
The rear view camera is located above the license plate:

The camera mode switch button is located to the right of the driver on the dashboard, below the car radio and climate control controls:

As a result, the rear view is informative and sufficient for comfortable maneuvering and parking:
