Audison Processor Sound for Ford Mustang Cabrio

This car is simply made for a bright sound on open-top trips, so that a smile does not leave the face. This is what the owner of the Ford Mustang originally intended, but something went wrong and the sound that was originally made in his car did not satisfy the owner. So this car ended up with us.
We couldn’t do anything useful with what was already installed in the car, so we suggested building a completely new audio system, not using any of the old equipment installed before us, except for the soundproofing, which was done well. Before us, the car had horn tweeters installed in the front doors in the standard place for the midrange speaker, instead of the standard midbass there was a 16.5 cm SPL series midrange speaker, and the standard tweeters remained in the racks, which were disconnected. The rear was again handled by 13 cm SPL midrange speakers – this was very surprising, because the standard place allowed for easy installation of 165 mm speakers, but … Before us, a stealth case for a subwoofer was made in the wing of the bariolet, but we could not hear the subwoofer – the subwoofer simply burned out before it arrived to us … Several Chinese amplifiers were responsible for amplifying all the components. There is no point in describing this in more detail, because ALL OF THIS SIMPLY DID NOT WORK!!! In no way!
Therefore, having removed everything that was before us, we set about installing an audio system of the following composition:

A three-component system at the front is always more problems with installation and more complicated setup. However, we preach installations with minimal interference in the interior of the cabin, trying to use the capabilities of the standard places to the maximum. And the standard places of the Ford Mustang allowed us to install a three-piece in front, so despite the difficulties – we are doing a three-piece!
We had to slightly redesign the front doors. Before us, both the midrange and midrange speakers played on the same door volume. We considered this a bad idea and divided the door volume separately into the midrange and the middle. The middle now plays on the door map. The midrange – on the internal volume. We implemented the volume division simply by securely sealing the technological hole behind the midrange speaker with vibration insulation.

The Audison Voce AV 6.5 midbass speakers were installed on plywood spacer rings that were left over from the previous Chinese speakers, but during test listening it became clear that the rings needed to be replaced with professional plastic ones of a smaller thickness so that the midbass diffuser suspension would not touch the protective mesh under a good load.

Our system has two amplifiers – a processor with an eight-channel amplifier Audison AP F8.9 and a monoblock for the subwoofer Hertz HCP 1D. Both of them are mounted on a false panel located behind the back of the rear seats. This panel was made before us, the previous amplifiers were located on it, but they “looked” into the trunk. We hid our amplifiers inside, re-covering the panel with automotive carpet. It turned out elegant.

The rear speakers were installed in size 16, using spacer rings. Why 13s were installed before us is still unclear… Audison APX 6.5 perfectly settled in the standard places of Ford Mustang:

By the way, the edges of the speakers and the door panel mesh have been additionally sealed:

There is nothing special to write about the Audison Voce AV 1 tweeter and its location – it is in its regular place!

Externally, the doors of this convertible have not changed in any way – both the standard acoustics and our three-component Audison system – externally, everything is stock!

Setting up. Perhaps the most important stage in building a processor audio system. Without careful setting up, you won’t hear good sound! Usually, setting up takes almost a whole day. That’s how it is!
First, automatic tuning with the professional Audison Bit Tune complex

Then manual setting
