BMW 3 Series F30 – new processor audio system instead of standard HI-FI car audio.
Our regular customer, in whose car we have already implemented a processor audio system for his Ford Mustang with subsequent system upgrades, brought his second car to improve the sound. This time, a BMW 3 F30 drove into our garage and here the task was to make the sound better than the standard one, plus fit into the budget of $ 1800, which is not easy, but with us it is absolutely possible!
In order to stay within a small budget, two conditions must be met – use a multifunctional device in one case (in our case, this is the Match processor amplifier) and the most suitable speakers for the car (we always select all audio components for each specific car and the musical preferences of its owner).
This is the set of components we selected for this BMW 3 F30:

As you can see, the system composition that we have proposed is modest. But let’s see what the manufacturer has proposed:
When we took the doors apart, we saw that there was a non-standard acoustic system there and our foreign colleagues tuned it. By the way, the car was brought to Ukraine from Korea. We tried to find out what kind of acoustics it was, but the brand was unknown to the Internet and looked very much like “homeless China”.
As usual, we installed all the speakers we selected in the standard places without alterations and “collective farming”. The amplifier is installed under the trim in the left niche of the trunk. For connection, we used an adapter for connection to the factory wiring MATCH PP-BMW 1.7 HiFi 7DSP to minimize the intrusion into the standard wiring as much as possible.
A brief report on how it was BEFORE and how it was AFTER using the example of high-frequency speakers, which are located in racks:
We found the under-seat woofers in the factory version, they were replaced with new Ground Zero, the connectors and fasteners remained in the factory version.
A thicker power cable with a fuse was installed for the amplifier. A mount was made for the new amplifier, and a monoblock (the client had one left over from the previous installation) was installed in place of the standard one for the future subwoofer.
When the trim is installed in this car, nothing will remind you that new amplifiers are hidden under it and that the car has a new car audio system.
So the machine is assembled, the processor is configured and is being prepared for delivery to the client. We have fulfilled both conditions: it plays 2 heads higher than the standard HiFi, more volume, transparency in the sound has appeared, bright mid and high frequencies, normal bass. All that remains is to add a subwoofer and we will have a complete picture.
